Remote sensing is well demonstrated to be a powerfull tool for the assessment of damage in warfare areas. As we did in our first experience in Nineveh, the first phase of our research, from early 2019 to January 2020, we produced a geo-database of archaeological evidence and damage in Hatra.
Analysis of the satellite imagery was based on the WorldView archive collections, comparing panchromatic and multispectral images captured on June 19, 2013 (WorldView-2), before the occupation by ISIS, with images taken on April 6, 2015 (WorldView-3).
Recently, we collected further historical aerial photography and satellite imagery
